She was a marvellous speaker, Karen – I found her Polish accent mesmerizing (daft as it sounds). Croft read really well several extracts from Flights. I’m so glad I bought a ticket, even though, at the time, I didn’t know who was likely to win. My partner went off to see David Walliams while I was there. Apparently he was really entertaining!
