My Blog’s Name in Books

Blogs in books

Everyone seems to be jumping on the My Blog’s Name in Books bandwagon, so why not me, too?

Spring arrived in Wales this week and the sunshine induced in me a book-reviewing lethargy. What I needed was a little light-hearted, not too cerebrally demanding fun – it came in the form of this currently popular distraction, My Blog’s Name in Books.

Quite a curious assortment of titles made it on my list. There were two novels from the wonderful Penelope Fitzgerald; a couple of classics; one I have no memory of downloading but it looks quite interesting; and the as yet unpublished Orchid & The Wasp, which I have agreed to read and review next month.

This meme and the main graphic were created by Lynne, the ever industrious book-blogger at Fictionophile. She has really started something!

The Rules:

  1. Spell out your blog’s name in book titles.
  2. Find the books on your TBR shelf. However, to complete this challenge, you are not permitted to add additional titles (i.e. ones that weren’t already on your TBR list when you started).
  3. Have fun looking through your shelves to find matching titles.

  1. This is fun, I must be hiding under a rock because I’ve never heard of this meme before😁

  2. My name is too long for this I’ve decided – plus the fact that I’m not short on things to post at the moment. If it had come around at a drier time I might have done it. I haven’t read many on your list – just Jane Eyre, which I read reasonably late in life (though I may have read it at school!). I have a Penelope Fitzgerald on my TBR, and I think it’s The Book Shop (but I’m too lazy to look) and I’d like to read the Graham Greene and the Margaret Atwood. I like Alan Bennett too. In other words, I rather approve your TBR list – I thought you’d like to know that – haha!

  3. This is fun- I think I shall give it a shot as well 🙂 I see one of my favourite books Jane Eyre in your list and a Tove Jansson I didn’t know – come to think of it, I never did look beyond the Moomins.

  4. I like the way you started your list!

  5. Minded to do this as a filler post and as a bit of fun, with the added impetus that Calmgrove is quite short! Slightly stumped for ‘V’ but hoping that Polidori’s ‘The Vampyre’ isn’t cheating…

    • It’s a bit of light relief, Chris. Look forward to reading your list. I would have said ‘The Vampyre’ was an excellent choice. If the title has a ‘The’ in it, I just stick it on the end and hope nobody notices! 😏

  6. Fun tag and it kind of makes me glad I have a huge TBR list to choose from since I would need a lot of book titles to do this, lol.

  7. This is super cute!

  8. It’s a fun way to pass some time isn’t it! I always enjoy playing about with books and lists 😉

You’ve reminded – as if I needed reminding – of Penelope LIvely and also Alan Bennett. I will get to them one day!

  9. This is a super fun meme! Why have I not seen this yet? You really do have such an eclectic collection posted there! Other than The Orchid and the Wasp, what do you hope to read next?

    • Thanks Jackie. I read all sorts of books, and I’m always willing to try something new. I’ve got a couple of books on the go at the moment, one of which is Books for Living by Will Schwalbe. Enjoying it so far! 😊

  10. I nearly added Offshore to my list too. Our Man in Havana was a fun read that I managed to read in Cuba 🙂

  11. I love Jane Eyre and I love Margaret Atwood (although I read Edible Woman so long ago I should really read it again), and I have read Alan Bennett’s The Uncommon Reader (which is a fun book). Which book from this list do you think you’d like to read first?

  12. This looks like a great tag! My name is a bit long tho… thank you for following 🙂

  13. Great blog I eenjoyed reading
